digital scorecard for yahtzee, yatzy and generala

all the scores of yahtzee-style dice games at a glance — from ones to sixes, every combination in the lower section and the bonus rule. below that, the scores of the two other rule sets, yatzy and generala.

scores in the upper section

only the matching dice count. the bonus takes 63 points — that is three of each number on average.

scores in the other rule sets

everything above is yahtzee. the scorecard knows three rule sets — yahtzee, yatzy and generala —, and you pick one when starting a new game. the upper section is the same in all three (ones to sixes, only the matching dice); what differs is the bonus and the lower section. how they are played is on the rules page.

yatzy

played mostly in scandinavia. the bonus here is 50 points from 63 in the upper section. the lower section has nine boxes instead of seven — pairs are added, and three and four of a kind score only the matching dice, not all five.

category requirement score example
one pair 2 matching dice sum of those 2 dice
two pairs 2 different pairs sum of those 4 dice
three of a kind 3 matching dice sum of those 3 dice
four of a kind 4 matching dice sum of those 4 dice
small straight exactly 1-2-3-4-5 15 points
large straight exactly 2-3-4-5-6 20 points
full house 3 alike + 2 alike sum of all 5 dice
chance any combination sum of all 5 dice
yatzy 5 matching dice 50 points

generala

from spain, at home in argentina and its neighbours. the upper section has no bonus, and the lower section has only five boxes. a combination rolled on the very first roll — “servida” — counts more.

category requirement score example
straight 5 consecutive numbers 20 points — servida 25
full house 3 alike + 2 alike 30 points — servida 35
poker 4 matching dice 40 points — servida 45
generala 5 matching dice 50 points — servida 60
double generala 5 matching dice again, once the generala is already scored 100 points
